Da Lat for a one to three month stay

Da Lat is a small hilly city in the central highlands, about 1,500 m above sea level. It has cool air, pine forest, a lake and cozy cafes. It has fewer coworking spaces than the big cities.

Prices below are rough. They come from travel and cost sites, and some are commercial. Anything we could not confirm says "check before you go".

Where to live

  • Lake and market. The walkable center around Xuan Huong Lake, with the most cafes and restaurants.
  • Trai Mat. A calmer area outside the center, with flower farms and cafes.
  • Tuyen Lam Lake. Pine forest and lake views. Quiet, and easiest with your own transport.

Rent and monthly costs

Getting there and around

Lien Khuong airport reopened on Aug 19, 2026 after more than five months of closure. Flights resumed to Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang and other cities 8. It is about 30 km from the center, roughly 40 minutes 3. Check flight times before you book. Taxis and ride apps work. Scooters are common, but the roads are steep.

Nearest border run

No land crossing is close. The only international flight we found is AirAsia to Kuala Lumpur, four a week, with Singapore planned for December 2026. Otherwise go to Ho Chi Minh City first and use the Moc Bai run 9. Check before you go.

Safety and annoyances

  • Cold nights. Lows near 12 C from December to February 7.
  • Steep roads and rain. Riding is harder in the wet season 7.
  • Few coworking spaces. Plan on cafes.
  • Flights. The airport only just reopened, so schedules may change.

Plan the rest
